Dr. Elizabeth Slater
I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 31306) and received my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco, where I was a member of the Social Justice Track.
Populations I enjoy working with:
• Preteens, Adolescents & Adults
• LGBTQ Community
I offer Saturday and evening hours to accommodate people whose school/work schedules make it difficult to come during the week. I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit.
You can reach me at 323.374.5027 to schedule a call.
How I work:
I approach therapy from a psychodynamic and social justice lens, encouraging self-exploration and helping people become more conscious and reflective about themselves and how they interact with the world. I believe understanding past relational dynamics is an essential ingredient to developing new, healthy ways of connecting with others. I am particularly passionate about working with adolescents and the LGBTQ community. I also have training and experience in working with people pre-, during-, and post-gender-affirming surgeries. Additionally, I specialize in working with those who have a history of trauma, substance abuse, anxiety and depression. Therapy provides a space to process and explore difficult feelings and experiences but also the opportunity to heal and grow from them.
